How to point a domain to your site at Kelma

To make your domain serve your Kelma site, you point its DNS records at Kelma. This guide shows where to find the records in the dashboard and how to add them at popular DNS providers.

Get your DNS records from the dashboard

1. Open your site in the Kelma dashboard.
2. Go to the Domains tab and add your domain if it is not already listed.
3. Kelma shows a Pending Validation section (also reflected in the DNS Configuration on the site overview) with the exact records to add: a CNAME (or A) record for traffic, and a TXT record when ownership verification is required.

Add the records at your DNS provider

1. Log in to your domain’s DNS management panel.
2. Add the records shown in the Kelma dashboard exactly as listed.
3. If records already exist for the hosts @ and www, replace them with the Kelma records.

Once the records propagate — usually a few minutes, occasionally up to a few hours — the domain flips to Active and Kelma issues a free SSL certificate automatically. You do not need to keep refreshing; Kelma re-checks and activates the domain for you.

• Cloudflare — when adding Kelma’s CNAME records, set the proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud), not Proxied.
• GoDaddy — add the CNAME records under your domain’s DNS management.
• Namecheap — add the records under Advanced DNS.
• AWS Route 53 — create the records in the hosted zone for your domain.
